Tobias Jacobi, CSCS*D, RSCC*E, USAW-L1, TPI-L1, and USAT&FL-1, is Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Strong Rock Christian School in Locust Grove, Ga. In this video, he discusses the difference between when athletes listen and when they hear their coaches. He explains that kids haven’t changed over the years, but parents and society have changed. Therefore, it’s important that coaches don’t hold kids accountable for societal changes they had no part in.
Jacobi brings a wealth of experience to his role as Strength and Conditioning Coach at Strong Rock Christian School. He spent 15 years coaching at esteemed Division I colleges such as East Carolina, Charleston Southern, Kent State, Western Carolina, Elon, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Cumberland University.
Under his expert guidance at Strong Rock, the school has seen impressive athletic achievements, with 18 different teams earning state playoff or tournament appearances and two teams winning Area/Region Championships.
In recognition of the school’s commitment to excellence in strength and conditioning, Strong Rock Christian School was awarded the prestigious NSCA Strength of America Award in 2017. This honor reflects not only the hard work of the student-athletes but also the dedication and expertise of Jacobi in fostering a culture of physical fitness and athletic success.
Jacobi was also named the 2018 National High School Strength Coaches Association’s (NHSSCA) National High School Strength Coach of the Year.
Jacobi’s impact on the school’s athletic program is further highlighted by the outstanding individual accomplishments of his student-athletes. In the three years prior to the NSCA Strength of America Award, five athletes from Strong Rock earned the esteemed NSCA Strength and Conditioning All-American honors, showcasing their exceptional skills and the results of their rigorous training under Jacobi’s tutelage.
