John Beerbower, Ed.D., experienced the power of the TeamBuildr athletic management platform at McHenry Community High School in Illinois. As an all-in-one software solution, TeamBuildr emerged as a unifying force for athletes, educators, and coaches.
Currently, Beerbower serves as the Director of Strength & Conditioning at McHenry Community High School and Assistant Divisional Chair for Physical Education, Health, and Driver’s Education. Under his leadership, McHenry’s physical education program has earned recognition as one of the best in Illinois. The school’s strength program accommodates approximately 815 student-athletes across 26 sections during the day, as well as various off-season, sport-specific training groups after school.
In addition to his role at McHenry, Beerbower is an adjunct faculty member at Carthage College’s Master of Education Program. He teaches courses such as Advanced Techniques in Coaching Psychology, Leadership in Sport, and Sports Leadership in Education Internship. As a frequent presenter, he discusses subjects like physical education, technology, and leadership.
With a doctorate from Concordia University, a master’s degree from Eastern Illinois University, and a graduate certificate from Moody Bible Institute, Beerbower has received numerous accolades. These include Illinois Teacher of the Year from multiple organizations, the 2019 Illinois Coach of the Year from the National High School Strength Coaches Association, and the 2022 Strong Leader of the Year Award from the Illinois High School Powerlifting Association.
